Over a decade of experience has taught us that the best way to create great recordings is to explore creative production techniques. We've worked in studios where the focus was primarily on time constraints, resulting predictably in compromise. We've chosen to work differently. Some may think that higher studio rates correspond directly with higher quality; Crescent Moon is here to challenge that notion. To the skeptics we say - come in, experience the environment and listen to the results for yourself.
Creative Process
We can give shape to your creative visions in a very practical sense. Preconceived ideas of how a project should turn out need to be balanced with the process of letting the recordings unfold in their own way; listening for where the sounds, production, and the mix themselves wish to move. The best results invariably incorporate openness and spontaneity.
Exploration For Songwriters
In addition to creating more natural and integrated recordings, we strive to develop strong soundstages or 'depth' - something we feel sets great recordings apart from the commonplace. This depth is created through experience, great gear and ambiance.
For songwriters, full musician services are available from a strong and creative team of session performers. Recordings at Crescent Moon have consisted primarily of albums/full length CDs, but a number of sound exploration projects have also developed here.
